Therapy
Below is important information about therapy that may help you determine whether I am a good fit for you. Please read through all the information and reach out with any questions you may have.
Appointments
Our work together will start with an intake. The intake is conducted over one 60 minute session. You’ll be invited to talk about what is bringing you to therapy and your therapy goals. I’ll ask a few questions to learn more about you and you will also be able to ask me questions.
As we begin working together in therapy, we will meet for weekly 50 minute sessions. The quality of our work together relies on your willingness to bring up important topics and challenge yourself to engage fully in the process.
Commitment to weekly therapy is part of actively working towards change. As you accomplish your goals, we will talk together about decreasing the frequency of sessions.
Investment
Intake/Initial Evaluation (one 50 minute session) - intake sessions are offered in person or via telehealth ($300)
Follow-up therapy sessions:
50 minute individual therapy session: $275
50 minute couples or family session: $300
While I am not in network with any insurance plans, I provide documentation (also called a superbill) for out-of-network benefits on a monthly basis. If you plan on using out of network benefits, it is important to contact your insurance company in advance to learn more about the specifics of your plan and how to submit for reimbursement. HSA and FSA plans can also be used to pay for sessions.
I reserve a limited amount of sliding scale sessions from month to month to those who qualify. Please reach out via email to schedule a time to speak directly about sliding scale options.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. I am not in-network with any health insurance plans and therefore I am considered an out-of-network provider. This means I do not have an agreement or contract with your insurance plan to provide services.
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give people who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask me, and any other healthcare provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visitwww.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Cancellation Policy
Therapy involves a shared commitment to a weekly session time. To cancel your appointment and avoid incurring a fee, 48 hours notice is required. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, or miss your appointment entirely, you are financially responsible for the full cost of the session. The credit or debit card you place on file as part of the intake process will be charged at the time of the missed session.
Documentation Requests
As part of our work, you may ask me to complete forms or letters on your behalf. Should you make such a request, a release form will be required with specific information regarding what and with whom you would like information to be shared.
General forms or letters requiring less than 15 minutes for completion are provided free of charge. More complex requests are billed in 15 minute increments at my hourly rate of $300.
In Person Therapy
If you would like to meet in person, you have the choice of meeting in my office or for outdoor therapy. My office is located at 1359 Hancock Street, Suite 9, in Quincy, Massachusetts, adjacent to the Quincy Center MBTA station. Parking is usually available on the street or at Kilroy Square Parking Garage. Outdoor therapy sessions are conducted in various locations in Greater Boston.
Online/Telehealth Therapy
If you would prefer to meet via tele-health, our sessions will be scheduled through a secure web-based video platform. This platform helps to keep our conversations private. It is also important to find a place to meet for our sessions where you feel comfortable and able to speak openly. I am a licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont, meaning you need to be located in one of the aforementioned states I am licensed in at the time of the session in order for us to meet.
